El pasado 30 de noviembre tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la tercera edición de «Assises de lutte contre la négrophobie» (“fundamentos de lucha contra la negrofobia”) que realiza el colectivo «Les Rosas» (“Las Rosas”) para unir a la comunidad activista de Francia.
El evento tuvo lugar en el palacio de congresos y exposiciones de Marsella, más conocido como Marseille Chanot. Consistió en promover a los emprendedores africanos y empoderar la comunidad afrodescendiente a través de estands de cosmética, ropa, calzado, bisutería y accesorios en la entrada; y la realización de distintos talleres de concienciación.
Los temas que se abordaron fueron:
- Violencia sexual o de género
- Matrimonio forzado
- Mutilación genital femenina
- Peligro en las migraciones por mar
- Esclavitud moderna
- Misoginia Negra (misoginia en contra de la mujer negra, normalmente representada como hipersexualizada)
- Panafricanismo
- Literatura afrodescendiente y afroamericana
- Afro feminismo
- Activismo negro
- África postcolonial
- Matriarcado Africano
- Discriminación y racismo tratando la raza negra como inferior
- Impacto de la comunidad negra a la comunidad blanca (la dificultad de integración de los afrodescendientes en el sistema social)
Estos son bastantes y la mayoría desconocidos en la comunidad afrodescendiente española. Por ese motivo, quería expresar que ha sido un evento beneficioso para conocer los puntos en común de lucha entre las distintas comunidades de afrodescendientes en Europa. Esto nos permitirá seguir progresando y llegar a conseguir vivir con la identidad europea y africana sin conflictos.

Last November 30th, I had the opportunity to attend the third edition of "Assises
de lutte contre la négrophobie" ("Fundamentals of fight against black phobia")
that the collective "Les Rosas" ("The Roses") carries out to unite the afro
descendant activist community of France.
The event took place at the Palais des Congrès et Expositions in Marseille, better
known as Marseille Chanot. It consisted of promoting African entrepreneurs
and empowering the afro-descendant community through cosmetic stands,
clothing, footwear, costume, jewellery and accessories at the entrance; and
holding various awareness workshops.
The topics addressed were:
- Sexual or gender-based violence
- Forced Marriage
- Female Genital Mutilation
- Danger in migrations by sea
- Modern slavery
- Black misogyny (misogyny against a black woman, usually represented as
hypersexualized)
- Pan-Africanism
- Afro-descendant and African-American Literature
- Afro feminism
- Black activism
- Postcolonial Africa
- African Matriarchy
- Discrimination and racism treating the black race as inferior
- Impact of the black community on the white community (the struggle of
integration of Afro-descendants into social system)
These are quite a few and mostly unknown in the Spanish afro-descendant
community. For this reason, I wanted to express that it has been a beneficial
event to know the common points of struggle between the different communities
of afro-descendants in Europe. This will allow us to continue progressing and to
be able to live with the European and African identity without conflicts.
